The following checklist is intended to remind you of important considerations relevant to each of the resources listed. Find the resource you're dealing with and consider the related question(s).

WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS
q   Have you determined if the area's primary purpose is
      that of a recreation area or refuge?

SCHOOL PLAYGROUNDS
q   Have you formally communicated with the school
      authorities to determine the type and frequency of use?
q   Have you provided any required documentation
      regarding the playground's significance?

FAIRGROUNDS
q   Are the fairgrounds designated for general
      recreational purposes?

PUBLIC MULTI-USE LAND HOLDINGS
q
  Does the land holding's management plan identify the
      portions of land used as a recreation area, refuge or
      cultural resource?

WILD & SCENIC RIVERS
q   Has it been federally designated?
q   Are any publicly owned lands in the proximity of federally
     designated Wild & Scenic Rivers designated for
     recreation or other Section 4(f) activities?

BODIES OF WATER
q   Is the body of water designated for general recreational
      purposes, or is a portion of it used for park,
      recreation, or refuge activities?

PLANNED FACILITIES
q   Do the plans call for the facility to function as a park,
      recreation area or other Section 4(f) resource?
q   Are the plans documented before circumstances arise in
      which a determination must be made?

BIKEWAYS
q   Is the bikeway, or are portions of it, designated for
      recreational use?

TRAILS
q   Is the trail part of the National Trails System or owned
      at the federal, state or local level?

SCENIC BYWAYS
q   Has the scenic byway been relocated or undergone
      improvements that impact a Section 4(f) resource?
