Draft evaluations

Have you included all the necessary elements of a draft evaluation? Check to see that your draft evaluation has the following:

q    A description of each resource that would be subject to
Section 4(f) use, including graphics that clearly illustrate       the location, boundaries, impacts and proposed       alternatives

q    A discussion of impacts on the Section 4(f) property for       each alternative under consideration

q   Evidence that avoidance alternatives have been explored,       as well as a discussion to support a finding of whether or       not avoidance alternatives are feasible and prudent, as       well as any unique problems they may present

q    A detailed discussion of, summary of, or reference to all
      relevant mitigation measures

q    A discussion of the results of coordination with the official       with jurisdiction, the regional offices of the DOI, and other       relevant agencies

REMINDERS

q    Identification of the selected alternative is premature
and inappropriate in the draft evaluation.

q   If you have a project with minor impacts, check to see if it       qualifies for a programmatic evaluation before starting an       individual evaluation.
